Perhaps I am stating the obvious in saying in these times of uncertainty we are being forced to take a good look at our lives, at what we need and must change. Staying centred in this revolutionary time is essential, as well as being present and focused on what is true and real.
There is purpose in all that we endure in this challenging time. It is a transformative rite of passage, even if we do not understand it at the moment. As we move through the eclipse energies and global events, it appears our entire existence as we knew it has, or is being, stripped bare.
Through intense experiences of loss, death, spiritual disillusionment or a complete withdrawal of interest with the outside world, we are forced to surrender and let go as these shifts take place.
So Love’s healing message from the Black Rose this month is this:
Be present and focus on what is true and real.
What warms or comforts your soul in times of uncertainty?
It breaks my Heart to see so much spiritual bypassing and avoidance, so I’m going to share with you an excerpt from my book. I feel it is relevant at this time because we are all being catapulted into a new existence. We cannot pretend anymore about what is going on in our lives and in the world, using distractions to avoid doing the deeper soul work required now.
It is easy to tune out what is going on in the world. In 2017, I wrote in a blog that humanity was going through a crucifixion – a personal and collective Dark Night of the Soul. The dark is calling us to be present and focus on what is true and real and how profound this time is.
“Dark nights” will bring up for us all that is unhealed.
They will bring us to some sort of realisation.
A dark night of the soul is a time of initiation. As we embrace the meaning in our suffering and understand its value, healing takes on another meaning.
Whilst it can be mistaken for depression, dark nights of the soul do not have to be depressive. They are about rebirth and finding meaning and purpose in life.
They offer us a way out of the pain or personal challenge we may find ourselves in right now.
They give us an opportunity to be “born again”, into the life that was destined for us. From lived experiences, I have found “dark nights” also offer opportunities to be creative.
What I have also found is this:
Something mysterious takes place whilst healing in a dark night of the soul. Ancient forces, ancient voices and an invisible presence did the healing. It was not me. When you have been touched by Presence it changes you.
I just had to get out of my own way. To let my Heart break.
To let my feelings and thoughts have their say.
Let’s get real
Who or where are your friends right now?
Do they want to sit with the ugliness and messiness of your life? Do they want to witness your emotional pain that wants to be heard for the deep loss of a loved one, a pending death, the abuse or a divorce that were never spoken about? Do they or you use distractions or superficial chat to avoid looking at the messy stuff and reality of what’s going on?
What keeps you going when all is falling away?
Excerpt from my book,
“As we move through this next stage of our evolution individually and collectively, it is the collective shadow and Dark Night of the Soul for men, women and humanity that we are living through now.
Society appears to be breaking down in many areas as fear, anxiety, violence and wars are on the increase. Awakened souls are suffering too.
If you are feeling lost or trying to find your way through the uncharted seas of emotions or a personal challenge of some kind, be open to the possibility you might be experiencing what is referred to as the dark night of the soul.
It can be triggered or reveal itself by loss, such as the death of a loved one, losing a job, divorce, a relationship ending, homelessness, illness, aging, a partner’s affair, instability in finances, disappointments or even dissatisfaction with a job or life.
We are seeing it manifest before our eyes as lifelong friendships and family ties are being torn apart or let go of, jobs are being lost, illness is on the increase.
Many feel lost, sad, have lost hope, and are drifting along aimlessly. Our previous life as we knew it has gone, along with our identity. We may feel empty and completely lost. Perhaps you are questioning the meaning of life, what’s it all about? Is this all there is? Maybe you feel a disconnection from others and life itself. Maybe you feel an absence of Mother/Father God.
It can be a complete withdrawal of interest from the outside world.
Even our faith from spirituality or religion that sustained us may be tested.
Maybe you find yourself crying, feeling confused or melancholic, have no motivation or are feeling worthless. It is time to look at these experiences of a Dark Night in a different “light” so to speak, for my experience of them is there is much value and meaning to be found.
It is the purging of our suffering that we have held within for far too long.
However it manifests, we may appear trapped by external circumstances and are removed from the world as this death and rebirth process begins”.
Certain aspects of our lives have to come to an end. Unexpected memories and unresolved issues are surfacing. Every past hurt, betrayal, our deepest fears, our deepest worries and insecurities, whatever it is that made us feel insecure will be coming out.
Heartbreak, loss, betrayal and disappointments are experienced by everyone. So why do we avoid speaking about them? I have learned that in opening my Heart to them I discovered their healing power. Each one became a powerful portal to the divine wisdom within.
We can run, we can try and hide. We can deny or pretend they don’t exist. For those who are so inclined can drink themselves into oblivion, but when the glass is empty and they have sobered up, the pain is still there…..
And so the cycle of pain, addiction and eventual death continues.
For some, many relationships have changed in their dynamics as people are moving on and redefining themselves. What about the men?
With the rise of the Divine Feminine, much focus has been put on women. What about the men? Men too in one way or another are being asked, or forced, to face their deepest fears, insecurities, wounds, unhealed pain and unacknowledged grief.
Finding beauty in the unknown
There is a sense of “inevitability” about the energies at the moment. We sense something big is about to happen and yet it is out of our hands. Can we find beauty in the unknown and uncertainty? Can we be present to what imminent or certain death brings?
One of my sons has also been taken out as he goes through his own dark night of the soul. As a mum it is heartbreaking. I feel helpless to watch a lost soul lose his way. Yet I trust that even though he may not get healing in this lifetime, his soul will find peace and find its way again.
I too have been taken out of the world for a while to not only write and re-evaluate what is important to me, but I have been preparing a “death file” for my own death whenever the time comes. There is nothing depressive about it, it has been a very satisfying creative project!
Aging or through a life threatening illness, we are brought face to face with our own mortality. A subject rarely talked about. Yet death itself is also a journey.
Things are falling down. The shift that many of us have felt over the years is culminating. What the future holds no-one knows.
Living with uncertainty about the future is real, as humanity goes through its unravelling.
Living with chronic illness and uncertainty about my future has taught me to live with uncertainty every minute of every day. I have had to learn there is only this moment. The next second, hour or day is not guaranteed.
How do you live with the reality of uncertainty?
I have had several dark nights of the soul and tower moments in my life. I have seen the beauty of death, dying, rebirth and transformation within them.
I have seen the beauty in life and death too. These painful moments have allowed me to go through different lessons and learn their true essence to understand who I am and what I am.
They have also brought through several of my creative projects. We can descend into the underworld yet allow our soul to soar as it refines itself.
If the main focus is on being in the light all the time, you may avoid or spiritually bypass your emotions, or avoid being with the darker moments of others.
However, if you are looking for meaning in life and a depth of character and soul, from personal experience I know you will find your dark night holds many wonderful gifts for you that you will eventually be able to share them with others to assist them.
In these times of uncertainty, what is taking up your focus right now?
What is true and real for you?
What are your raw emotions that want to be acknowledged and expressed?
What comfort does your soul need in these times of uncertainty?
I would love to hear from you.
In Love and grace,
Linda
Thanks for sharing your insights here, Linda. For me what is really important – now more than ever – is to connect with our own inner wisdom and not to get trapped into giving our power away to other people and external events. Many people will not have realised this but tuning in to “the” news (which, of course is really only “some” news) actually changes our consciousness. It can draw us into complaining, blaming and hating. The world is being dominated by male egos yet all men and women have feminine power within. As I see it, that is the true power we need to be summoning at this time. Many may have been duped into thinking that “feminine” means “weak” but anyone who dares to surrender to their own inner feminine power will know how untrue this is. Feminine power does not beat its chest or put on shows of strength. Instead, it works quietly in the shadows, which are – as you say – the places that many fear to look. Sometimes events unfold like flowers opening to the light. But at other times our awareness cracks open, like an earthquake. Whether we experience an unfolding or an uncracking, both are examples of the inner feminine at work. Having our beliefs and illusions cracked open can be painful but there is always new life within waiting to be born.
Hi Linda! I was so very happy to
see this post. I don’t know if you remember me. I did join you for a few Black Rose gatherings via zoom a few years ago, time sure does fly by!
When I read your post, I feel as though you have read my mind as everything you say is what I’m feeling. I especially feel a tremendous amount of fear, that it actually scares me that I’m so incredibly fearful!!
Are you still doing the Black Rose gatherings via zoom? I would love to join but I’m in US, EST time zone currently residing in Florida, I was living in NY when I joined the calls previously.
Sending you huge gratitude 🙏 & love ❤️ for what you do!
Linda Lancia
